Where TV and Movies Get it Wrong

Where TV and Movies Get it Wrong

‘Real is the deal and reel might not even be the peel’. A perfect hero who can do just about everything flawlessly, needless to say he is perfect and has the possession of a heroine who is the epitome of beauty, there are a handful others who are just their support and a healthy group whose only mission is to make the power couple powerless.

This is probably the most overused plot outline which has brought unbelievable amount of money to all kinds of cinema for years. Reality is nowhere to be found in this epic shit because neither is any creature in existence flawless nor is the concept of perfection very practical nor does every hero have the possession of a supermodel fairy who woes him as much as she breathes nor is every heroine physically charming.

Even heroes and villains are not fixed in the real world either with respect to time or place. Any villain can at once become a hero of his life or someone else’s if he decides to do so. At certain times someone can be a hero in your life while at others the same person may seem to be malicious not that he or she aspires to be so but it’s just the case that their choices might hurt you and force you to paint a bad image of the person who was once seen in bright light.

Not everyone that is a part of your life is just playing the supporting cast, they are the hero of their own lives and in many ways the reason why you could become one in your life. They are not like swings that would provide you with momentary relief they are like the walls and ceilings of your house that protect you from unnecessary misery and struggles and make your life worth living by giving you a pleasant atmosphere to live and achieve.

‘A king needs a kingdom to rule not a queen’ and in the same way ‘A princess doesn’t require a prince to lead’ these two quotes loosely describe where mainstream cinema misses the plot. The protagonist always seems to have someone crazy for him or her and is willing to even die for him or her and keeps wooing him or her in every situation possible. For those of you who still believe it happens in the real world I must assure you in a couple of cases it might be true but in a billion cases it is far from true and expecting it to happen will only result in the acronym LoL.

Where the television and all kinds of media are horribly wrong is in their impact on youngsters.
The fancy shows mislead the viewers especially the youth into believing what life is not. They are tempted to believe that everything can be achieved in the heat of the moment that every problem can only be solved by direct confrontations that dreams come true without having patience in harsh struggles and that life is always fair which by all means we know isn’t true.

                                              THE END
