When the Pandemic is Over

                                            When All this is Over

When we all come out of this self-imposed prison sentence
When we're free to hug and kiss again
When fear and anxiety take the backseat again
When we stay home only when we want to
When it's fine to travel again
When the masks are off and smiles are on.

We shall take long walks in the city once again
We shall travel on foot more than on engines
We shall meet our pals and we shall savour time spent together
We shall see the classrooms, workplaces and library back again
We shall not forget lessons of the lockdown
We shall learn to value our liberty
We would've understood the meaning of freedom once again
We shall try and fall in love with life all over again.

I shall play football with my friends
And we won't mind tackling each other hard.

We shall work hard to pick ourselves up from the damage caused
We shall learn to be more hygienic and compassionate
We shall celebrate birthday parties with our loved ones, singing and dancing.

When all this is over I would like to find my lost love again
And vow to never lose it again.
When all this is over
Hopefully we've evolved to a deeper dimension of humanity.
